James Melton has been passionate about music from an early age, beginning his DJ journey at just 13 years old. Starting out performing at private events, he quickly developed his craft and has since gone on to play at some of the UK’s biggest clubs, perform at multiple festivals, and feature on line-ups for events across the country. Alongside DJing, James has built an extensive background in radio and music production, spending time as a producer at Capital FM and later working as a producer and presenter for another radio station. These experiences helped shape his approach to music, combining technical expertise with an instinct for connecting with audiences. Producing under the pseudonyms Jay M and THC, James has released music that continues to gain support within the electronic music scene, building a reputation for energetic, forward-thinking productions and performances.

His passion for discovering and developing new talent has also led to his current role as A&R Manager for Damaged Records, where he works closely with artists, helps shape the label’s direction, and continues to release music under both aliases. With over a decade of experience in the industry, James remains committed to pushing boundaries, whether behind the decks, in the studio, or working behind the scenes to help the next generation of artists make their mark.
